Dua Lipa celebrates her ‘special day’ as she delights fans at NOS Alive ’24

Dua Lipa has continued her sensational summer by delighting fans at NOS Alive '24 in Portugal on Friday, as she celebrated her "special day" after receiving incredible personal news.

The 28-year-old singer has already ruled the roost on Worthy Farm with her headline turn at Glastonbury Festival and she has shown that she has no plans of slowing down over the summer months by delivering her greatest hits, including Be The One and Levitating, to an ecstatic crowd in Lisbon.

As the sun shone brightly, Dua delighted in telling fans that this gig was the "cherry on the cake" of a great day for her, after she received news that she had sold out Wembley Stadium for two consecutive nights. The pop star will celebrate her third studio album Radical Optimism, which topped the charts earlier this year, as she originally shared the news on social media with a short clip.

Posting on Instagram, Dua squealed with excitement as she captioned the post: "NIGHTS AT WEMBLEY STADIUM SOLD OUT!!!!! WHAT IS HAPPENING!!!!!!!" along with several heart emojis. She told her followers in the clip: "You'll never guess what's just happened…two nights sold out at Wembley!" The singer later told fans at her festival show on Friday: "I’ve had a really special day and this is just the cherry on the cake".

The Grammy Award-winning singer also spoke candidly to the crowd about her delight at appearing on the bill of the Portuguese festival and the reasons why she felt "very lucky" to be a part of the line-up. She revealed that before taking to the stage, she had spoken to the NOS Alive '24 organisers and was loving the "inclusivity" of the festival, which made it all the more special for her performing there.

Dua said that all those there were contributing to her special moment and she told the crowd: "Right now on this stage, I guess night after night I remember what I do and why I love it so much and that’s because of you guys. Thank you thank you thank you."

The singer then continued to reveal her conversation with the organisers and told the crowd how much she was enjoying being at the festival in Lisbon. Dua continued: "Also what a beautiful festival, all of you guys sharing this space is just really really special. I had a little bit of time to speak to the festival organisers before hand and understand the inclusivity here which is really beautiful. I feel very very lucky. Thank you for sharing this moment with me."

This is the 16th edition of the festival and Dua is joined by Canadian band Arcade Fire and grunge rock icons Pearl Jam in headlining the three nights. NOS Alive is set in front of the River Tagus and against the backdrop of the Algés Maritime Promenade.
