The latest update about Tracker season 3 can have consequences that make Colter’s biggest weakness even more prominent. The revelation in Tracker season 2’s ending already promised season 3 would need to tackle Ashton Shaw’s mysterious death and who was really involved. The ramifications of Colter’s mother’s involvement indeed risk making Colter’s flaw more conspicuous, not knowing who to trust.

The nature of Colter’s job as a rewardist guarantees he always has to travel, which makes it difficult to check in often with his loved ones as a result. Having been raised as a survivalist also influenced Colter’s comfort with loneliness, something with which he never had problems. However, one change can make this characteristic more present in season 3.

Velma & Bobby Exiting Tracker Season 3 Will Make Colter More Isolated

This Way, Colter Has Even Fewer Loved Ones Around

Every time Colter’s family appeared in Tracker, Colter’s difficulties dealing with them were obvious. Between Mary Dove pushing for Colter and Russell not to reconcile and Colter’s hesitation to return to Echo Ridge, or even organize a dinner with Dory, Colter seems particularly careful when having to meet them. Their family dynamic thus doesn’t make being close to them easy.

While being close to his family seemed out of the question in Tracker seasons 1 and 2, Colter’s bonds with his friends and support team were never as intense, making them likelier to get close to Colter than his family. However, Abby McEnany and Eric Graise’s exits before Tracker season 3 effectively force Velma and Bobby out of Colter’s life.

Velma and Bobby disappearing from Colter’s life leaves the onus of being there for Colter to Reenie and Randy. Reenie became the only one Colter spent time with after he closed a case in Tracker season 2, but with those closest to him becoming fewer and fewer, Colter could dodge their invites much more easily, leading to his increased isolation.

Colter Cannot Always Be Isolated In Tracker

Colter’s past and type of job ensured that most of his time would be spent by himself, with which he seems completely at ease. However, while being alone might be easier for Colter, it doesn’t let him grow. The cases Colter relies on someone else are among the most interesting, and being around others could also teach him something new.

In this context, Velma and Bobby’s exits in Tracker season 3 can be the last straw that convinces Colter that he is right not to let anybody in, pushing him to be even more closed-off with Reenie and Randy. This could reverse Colter’s few steps forward, making his fear of letting people in more solid, thus leaving him more isolated.

Velma and Bobby’s disappearances can nevertheless be a double-edged sword. Indeed, Colter could resort to isolation. However, going to such extremes might prompt Tracker to tackle Colter’s innate flaw, putting him in a situation that might make him understand that he needs others like others need him. Hopefully, Tracker season 3 can finally spotlight and solve that problem of Colter’s.
