The franchise, based on J.K. Rowling's seven novels following the young wizard's journey to defeat the most evil wizard of all time, was adapted into eight films between 2001 and 2011. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint in the leading roles, Harry Potter featured an ensemble cast made up of British Hall of Fame actors, a feat difficult to replicate. Speaking to Josh Horowitz during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, James McAvoy revealed he could've been a part of the series, too.
