When Tracker was introduced, it had a full supporting cast of characters connected to Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) despite the fact that he was positioned as a lone wolf. Among that cast were Robin Weigert and Abby McEnany, who were cast as his handlers, Teddi and Velma.
Sadly, Weigert was the first Tracker cast exit, leading to several questions about what happened between Teddi and Velma before Tracker season 2. While there were the odd comments about Teddi visiting her mother, nothing really made sense based on what we knew about Velma and Teddi from the first season.
As we gear up for Tracker season 3, there are more cast exits. Now, Abby McEnany is exiting Tracker season 3, along with Eric Graise as Bobby, and now the decision not to cover too much about Teddi’s whereabouts makes more sense. Writing Velma out could be simple, with an update on Teddi’s fate.

When Tracker season 2 started, we learned from Velma that Teddi was away to help her mom. Eventually, the update was that Velma and Teddi were separating, but there was never a full explanation as to why. The series started to dance around the exit, despite it being clear that Weigert wasn’t coming back.
In fact, things were made worse as McEnany stopped appearing as much throughout Tracker season 2. This led audiences to wonder about where she was and what she was doing, bringing up even more questions about Teddi.

The Tracker season 3 cast will be reduced further, and the loss of one could help to explain the whereabouts of Teddi. Velma’s exit can directly tie into the reason her wife left before the second season.
There are a few ways the series could write this in, with the best reason being that Velma and Teddi are getting back together. As mentioned, the fact that they separated didn’t make sense based on what we saw of their relationship in Tracker season 1. So, Velma could decide that she wants to support Teddi more, leading to her moving to Teddi and her mom.
Alternatively, something may have happened to Teddi’s mom, leading to the couple getting back together. Velma may decide that she needs to leave her current place to offer full support to her wife, never wanting the separation in the first place. While it’s disappointing to lose Velma in Tracker season 3, writing in a reconciliation will make it worth it.
