On Thursday, Today.com reported that the influencer, 25, died on Oct. 4 from complications related to asthma and Addison’s disease, according to a representative for her family.

A source close to the family confirms to PEOPLE that Taylor's death was caused by a severe asthma attack and resulting complications.

News of Taylor's death was first shared by her husband, Cameron Grigg, on Oct. 5. He posted a tribute to the social media star with a long, emotional caption and described his late wife's death as “sudden and unexpected." Cameron also said she remains in the hospital for organ donation. The TikToker's sisters Trinity Rousseau and Bailey Rousseau Wagner also took to Instagram to honor Taylor's life. Trinity noted that her sister died "barely short" of her 19th birthday.

Bailey followed her initial Instagram post with a black-and-white photo of Taylor on her wedding day in August 2023. The caption gave further details about Taylor's organ donation honor walk, which was scheduled for 9:30am on the Monday, Oct. 7 following her death.

"She’s always had hopes of leaving her mark on this world, but in her wildest dreams I don’t think she ever would’ve imagined her legacy being carried on this way. And I know that she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way," Bailey wrote, adding, "A friend said, 'her "influence" has only just begun' and that couldn’t be more true."

“Taylor has been in and out of the hospital since we got married which has affected our financial situation, therefore we don’t have any insurance,” he wrote. “… I love y’all. Taylor loves y’all. Thank you for all the support and kind words during this time,” he concluded with a link to the online fundraiser.

A message on the GoFundMe page stated that the family is organizing a benefit in honor of Taylor.

“It is with our deepest condolences that we acknowledge the passing of Taylor,” the message read. "At this time we would appreciate everyone’s respect and privacy for our family at this time. Her social media family was a huge blessing in her life and we cannot thank you all enough for the love and support that you have brought her."
