TikToker Taylor Rousseau Grigg Dead After Battle With Addison’s Disease: What Is the Condition?

TikTok influencer Taylor Rousseau Grigg unexpectedly died at the age of 25 due to complications of Addison’s disease.

On Thursday, October 10, a representative for Grigg’s family confirmed to Today that the social media star’s cause of death was due to complications from asthma and Addison’s disease.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Addison’s disease, which is also referred to as adrenal insufficiency, occurs when the body doesn’t create enough of certain hormones. It can occur when a person’s body’s adrenal glands make too little cortisol and too little aldosterone, which is an additional hormone.

Addison’s disease can be a life-threatening condition that can affect anyone. However, it can be treated by taking hormones to replace the ones that are missing.

Symptoms of the condition typically occur slowly and in most cases over the course of months. Addison’s disease has a wide range of symptoms ranging from physical ailments to even depression and irritability.

However, if symptoms like darkened areas of skin, dehydration, severe fatigue, unexplained weight loss, nausea, vomiting, belly pain, lightheadedness, getting salt cravings or experiencing muscle or joint pain occur, it is best to consult a doctor.

Taylor’s husband, Cameron Grigg, announced in October that she unexpectedly died.

“No one ever expects to have to deal with this kind of pain and heartache, especially at our age,” Cameron wrote via Instagram on Saturday, October 5. “This past year Taylor has dealt with more pain and suffering than most people do in a lifetime. And in spite of that she still has been such a light and always brought joy to everyone around her.”

He continued: “She is the most brave and strong woman I know, and her confidence in the Lord outweighed every other circumstance she’s faced, even in her darkest hours. I know she’s saved my life and so many others out there. Her earthly body is still here with us being ran by machines to keep her organs viable for donation.”

While Cameron, who wed Taylor in August 2023, did not reveal how Taylor died at the time, he shared that the social media personality, who had more than 1.3 million followers, struggled with medical issues.

“With this being so sudden and unexpected we don’t have anything financially in order,” he continued. “Taylor has been in and out of the hospital since we got married which has affected our financial situation, therefore we don’t have any insurance.”

Cameron shared that a GoFundMe was created to help the Grigg family cover costs. While donations are appreciated, Cameron added that “prayers for our family are always needed.”
